Should I quit my sales job?

Thinking of quitting your sales job?

Before you do so,  watch this video first.

I’ve seen more sales professionals leaving their jobs, or considering leaving, than ever before.

The average tenure for a SaaS AE is now just 18 months at their company.

Even top performers are leaving to pursue greener pastures.

Why is this happening, and why now?

It comes down to five main reasons:

1. They don’t like working for their boss (this seems to be most common)

2. The sales market is hungry for talent and they can get a higher OTE elsewhere while saving years of time climbing at their own companies

3. They are unfulfilled and unhappy in their current roles and are searching for more meaning and purpose

4. They aren’t performing well at their company and believe it will be easier elsewhere

5. They are quitting sales to pursue their side hustle full time (this is more common with top performing sales professionals)

Before you switch companies and start all over again, take the time to ask these questions:

1. Am I done growing in my current role?

2. Have I done everything in my power to succeed in my current role?

3. Am I leaving for the right reasons, or am I afraid of failure?

4. Is the opportunity SIGNIFICANTLY better elsewhere?

If you are done growing, have done everything in your power to succeed, and have a significantly better opportunity elsewhere than it may be appropriate to leave.

But if you haven’t given your all and are leaving to pursue something you feel may be easier, you likely won’t find what you are seeking in your new role because wherever you go, there you are.

And if you are leaving to pursue a calling which is simply too loud to ignore, I say GO FOR IT as long as you can prove out the model first.
