Proof that God Exists
In this week’s newsletter, I’m going to share a video I just made about a topic that’s near and dear to my heart: the power of faith.
If you only want sales strategies, I invite you to stop reading now because I’m going deep with this one.
This is intended for people who may believe in something greater, but aren’t necessarily religious.
This is intended for those who want a closer relationship with God, but don’t have clarity on how to do so.
This is meant for people who have achieved all the things they wanted, but no matter how successful they are, they still feel like there’s a void and ask themselves “is this it?”
This is meant for people who are tired of the endless pressure they put on themselves and want to experience more joy, love, and freedom every single day.
If that’s you, I invite you to continue reading.
To give some context, for most of my life I didn’t have strong faith.
I was raised Jewish but didn’t practice Judaism after my Bar Mitzvah.
I believed in being a good person, helping others, and trying my best every day.
I believed in karma and that what goes around, comes around.
I believed in God, but spent no time exploring my spirituality.
My focus was on working hard and creating the life of my dreams by performing well in my sales career and being a great provider for my family.
The problem was, no matter how much I achieved I always felt empty inside.
I constantly put pressure on myself to perform, my entire identity was built around being a top salesperson. So if I failed in my role, I felt like a complete failure.
The pressure I put on myself was suffocating, and I sought relief in all the wrong places.
I turned to addictive behaviors to escape from stress or celebrate my wins.
Alcohol, weed, porn, gambling, adderall and work became ways to medicate and escape from the painful emotions which I didn’t want to feel. The pain of stress, pressure, and feeling like a failure if I wasn’t achieving.
Work hard, play hard was the mantra for much of my adult life.
It was an exhausting way to live…
When I decided to settle down, get married and start a family, I knew I had to change.
I tried my hardest to stop on my own, and while my addictive behaviors decreased in frequency, they still occurred periodically.
I didn’t tell anybody about my struggles, and told myself this was the “last time” every time I relapsed.
I felt immense shame and asked myself “what’s wrong with me?”
In 2020, I got into recovery after hitting a rock bottom.
During one of the scariest moments of my life, I prayed to God with all my heart for help.
And he answered my prayers immediately.
Psalm 34:18 – “The LORD is closed to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
That was the day I decided to get help.
One of the first things I learned in recovery was to admit that I was powerless over my addictive behaviors and my life had become unmanageable (Step 1).
I had no problem admitting this given what had happened.
Then came hope. I learned that a power greater than myself could help.
I can’t, but God can. Let go and let God.
My walk with faith and spirituality had begun.
Within a few months, I had quit getting drunk, smoking weed, watching porn, and adderall. It’s been over 6 years, and I’ve never looked back.
God has removed the addictive behaviors and underlying desire to medicate and escape.
My values shifted overnight to family, faith, and health.
I stopped working so much and started mending my relationship with my wife. She forgave me, and gave me a second chance.
We had a beautiful baby boy (Luke) who was healthy and happy.
I had finally broken the generational curse of addiction which had been in my family for years.
It ran in my family until it ran into me.
And miracle after miracle began happening in my life.
Every time a seemingly “unexplainable” miracle happened, I wrote it down.
I call these miracles “Godshots.”
And I believe that Godshots are proof that God is real.
I also believe that everything that’s happened in my life up to this point is part of God’s intricate plan, and feels like destiny. As if everything is happening by perfect design.
So now when obstacles or challenges take place, I see them as gifts that are re-directing me towards where I’m meant to go.
Complete and total surrender. Which feels pretty nice for a control freak like me.
So if you are somebody who seeks more peace, more purpose, and more hope that your life has a greater meaning, I encourage you to watch this week’s video: Proof that God Exists.
I openly share what happened when I hit rock bottom, how I found God, and all of the “Godshots” in my life.
My life is a living testimony that God is real.
And I know with 100% certainty that my life is infinitely better with God in it. It’s filled with more peace, joy, purpose, and love than I ever thought possible. And I owe all of it to God.
My prayer is that you find the same joy, peace, and purpose in your life that I’ve found by getting to know God and experiencing his unconditional love, grace, and blessings firsthand.
