From Addiction to Sales Mastery
For most of my teenage and adult life, I was a “high functioning addict.”
Alcohol, drugs, adderall, gambling, porn, video games, and work.
You name it, I did it.
As long as it gave me a dopamine hit…
Because I was a top performer at work, I denied I had a problem.
Until I hit an unexpected rock bottom and nearly lost my family.
I rarely tell the story of my rock bottom, because it’s so hard to share.
And extremely painful to re-live.
But every day I am grateful for that rock bottom.
Because in those darkest days I found my faith.
Because it got me into recovery.
And saved my family.
Because it made me the husband and father I always knew I could become.
And helped me help others who are still struggling in silence.
It’s been over 4 years since my rock bottom and I am no longer the man I was before.
I still am an addict (and will likely always be one), but my addictions have shifted greatly.
I am addicted to being healthy and taking care of my body.
I am addicted to spending time with my family.
I am addicted to personal development.
I am addicted to sharing content that I believe will help people improve their lives and business.
I am addicted to building a business the right way, setting boundaries for work so I don’t sacrifice my health or family.
I am addicted to pursuing my full potential in all areas of life.
If I can change with all of my vices and addictions, I know it’s possible for others.
If I can stop a lifetime of excess and shift to moderation, I know others can too!
If I can break the generational curse of addiction in my family, it’s possible for you too!
We all have some forms of vices and addictions.
Perhaps they aren’t as extreme as mine, but they still eat away at us.
Like death by a thousand paper cuts.
My story is a story that so many others can relate with.
Because I was a “high functioning” addict, not the stereotypical images of addicts we see or hear about.
Changing my life wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.
If I can change, I know you can too.
If you want to hear the story of my painful rock bottom and how I was able to change all aspects of my life afterwards, I’d encourage you to listen to a recent podcast I appeared on with Colin Campbell.
In this podcast, I openly share what brought me into recovery and the steps I took to save my family.
We also discussed how this experience helped me start and scale my business from a place of vulnerability, authenticity, and service,
