Get out of your Comfort Zone
We are either growing or we’re dying.
If you want to grow, you must GET OUT of your comfort zone.
The comfort zone is the danger zone.
When we are too comfortable, we get complacent.
When we are complacent, we stop challenging ourselves.
When we stop challenging ourselves, we stop growing.
It’s like a viscous cycle.
So how exactly can we break the cycle?
It’s simple, but not easy.
Set ambitious goals which require you to grow and change to hit them.
I recently signed up for the LA Marathon – my second marathon in 6 months.
I didn’t sign up because I love marathons.
I signed up because I love training and everything that comes along with it.
Training forces me to be disciplined.
Training requires me to go to bed early so I can run the next morning.
Training requires me to show up, even on the days I don’t feel like it.
Training requires me to take care of my body so I’m not suffering when I’m running.
Training for a marathon is a keystone habit which creates many other positive habits that surround it.
After I run my next marathon, I plan to move onto ultras or triathlons for the same reason.
Always keep growing.
