How to find your WHY in sales
What’s the best way to stay motivated and keep the fire burning within?
Always have a strong WHY, and update it every year!
When your WHY is big enough, you will find your HOW.
Whenever I feel myself losing focus or motivation, I know it’s time to go back to the drawing board for clarity on why I’m working so hard.
Here’s the key: your WHY will constantly change as YOU change.
So it’s critical to constantly revisit your why to make sure it’s relevant and inspiring for what you want at this point in your life.
It’s also critical to have a clear goal you are working towards which drives you every day as part of your why.
There are a few ingredients which make up a REALLY powerful why:
1. PAIN – achieving your goal takes you out of a painful situation you are in today, or prevents future pain.
2. GAIN – achieving your goal allows you to experience the life you’ve always wanted, or gain something that you don’t currently have
3. SERVICE – the strongest whys often include serving others. Hitting your goal will help improve the lives of those around you 4. BIG AND CHALLENGING – your why will force you to leave your comfort zone and change what you are doing so you can grow
5. DEEPLY PERSONAL – it should be unique to you and drive you deeply from within.
Finding a STRONG WHY isn’t easy, but it’s one of the most important things you can do to thrive in sales.
To help you on your journey, I’ve put together a masterclass on how to find a powerful, compelling why, completely free and ungated.
