How to Maintain Work/Life Balance
Is it possible to perform consistently in sales while maintaining a healthy work/life balance?
The simple answer is YES, but it will require thinking and working differently.
Over the past two years, I was able to exceed plan while starting and growing my side hustle, having a baby, and putting a tremendous amount of time and energy into my marriage and family life.
Here are some of the key learnings:
1. Set clear time boundaries for when you will start and stop working each day. Work expands to fill the time allotted, and you will work more efficiently if you allow less time to work
2. Plan and prioritize what’s most important at the beginning of the day. Time block.
3. When working, spend time on what matters most. In sales, that’s finding and winning clients. Learn to say no to things that aren’t important and delegate what you can
4. Win the ENTIRE day, not just the workday. Winning the day means putting time into whatever is important to you outside of work, instead of checking out once you clock out.
For me, from 6-9am is spent exercising and working on my side hustle, and 6-9pm is family time.
I watch very little tv and deleted Instagram and Facebook from my phone to minimize distractions.
With the right focus, you CAN have it all!
