The Achievers Dilemma: Why High Achievers are Never Satisfied

Why is it that so many high achievers are unfulfilled and never satisfied?

It’s called the “Achievers Dilemma.”

In simple terms, high achievers have extremely high expectations of themselves.

And when they fail to live up to their own expectations, they beat themselves up.

I’m not just talking about results or quota attainment.

I’m talking about their daily work ethic and habits.

For example, if a high achiever expects to be productive all day, but gives in to distractions or busy work, they will feel guilty or anxious.

And carry this guilt into their personal lives, either putting them in a bad mood or obsessing about work forcing them to work nights or weekends to feel better.

Same thing goes for results.

If they expect to crush their quota and earn a massive W2 but fall short, they will feel like a failure, regardless of how hard they tried.

And even if they do well, they will take little time to enjoy it and worry about how they can repeat or beat their results next year.

Thus repeating the cycle.

While the Achievers Dilemma can be effective for staying driven and getting results each year, it’s absolutely exhausting and very unfulfilling.

Who wants to beat themselves up all the time, right?

So if you are a high achiever and you’re reading this, what’s the solution?

How can you maintain high performance and stay driven without constantly beating yourself up along the way, whenever you fail to meet your impossible expectations?

This is exactly what I cover in this week’s training video: The Achievers Dilemma.
